A blend of 2,3, and 4 year old Bourbons aged in Cabernet Sauvignon Barrels for 3 months
Mashbill - 60% Corn, 25% Wheat, 10% Rye, 5% malted Barley
A little history on Ammunition Straight Bourbon Whiskey, it was started in 2013 and founded by Andy Wahl and Bill Kerr. They started out as a wine company but decided in 2017 to add whiskey to their arsenal. Loved what it says on the neck label that says "produced in small batches with no B.S."
On the nose alcohol definitely came through even though it was 90 proof and with the addition of ice caramel and pecan came through.
On the finish the alcohol hits fast and then dissipates leaving behind a slight fruit flavor that is mellowed by the Cab finish.
Overall it's a good pour for the price, collectively giving it a 6 out of 10 and a nice pick up to keep in your bar for $35.00.
