Before we did our #WhiskeyVenture to Osceola National Forest we broke out the Haven Tent Hammock to make sure we knew how to set up before we spent the night outdoors. It was pretty simple, I think it took longer to blow up the air mattress that the whole set up itself. Of course one of us had to take Whiskey Break halfway through! We packed up the Gladiator and headed to the Osceola National Forest for a #WhiskeyVenture on the FAT, the Florida Adventure Trail. Camped out in our @gofsr roof top tent and @HavenTents hammock. We embraced nature by the fire with a bottle of Wolcott Bourbon along with a couple of cigars underneath the starry sky. Woke up in the morning, planned out our adventure, washed it down with more whiskey and headed out. Join us as we navigate the Big Gum Swamp Trail, hit water holes and have a great time! While we were on our #WhiskeyVenture in Tamassee, SC we did a #flashreview with Dan from North Point Bar. I took Erik to my favorite liquor store up there in Walhalla called Liquor Express. The owner Al is a great guy and he definitely has a good selection. He picked up Peerless Toasted for our Flash Review while I picked up a few other bottles. Al said I had to taste their store pick Knob Creek, well let's just say I ended up with that bottle too. We put this Louisville Bourbon through our exhaustive tasting review, nose, palate, finish and then ad a cube. They say the first Peerless Whiskey went into a barrel in 1889! If you've had this already comment below and let us know your thoughts. Plus, Dan puts together his Dan O-F (old fashioned) that is unique. Then put we the smoke to it! As promised me and my cousin with the help of our lovely ladies set up the blind taste test of Weller 12 year and Buffalo Trace Kosher Wheat. How close was it? We shot this #FlashReview when I was at a mountain top cabin with my cousin. For this #WhiskeyVenture I traveled with my cousin to the Blue Ridge Mountains and of course we had to find a distillery... and we did! Gran Daddy Mimms Distilling is tucked away in Blairsville, GA. The distillery is based on Jack "Mimm" McClure who was a bootlegger in Blairsville and happens to be the Grandfather of the one who started the distillery, Tommy Townsend. If you don't know who Tommy is then you don't listen to country music. We stopped in for a tasting and a tour and I came loaded with cameras, we met Adam the assistant production manager, asked if we could film the tour and like that we were touring and shooting. See what they're all about, the border hop, the dance hall and why Jack never got caught. Plus, we get to step back behind the curtain and see how things are made. Talk about the their process, the moonshines, vodka, sorghum rye and WHISKEY. After the tour we had to do the tasting which is a must!
